Since May 2023, the organization has provided medical care to residents of de-occupied territories and remote settlements in the Kharkiv region, where access to medical services is limited due to the war and destroyed infrastructure.
This work is carried out by mobile medical teams made up of a general practitioner, a medical assistant, a psychologist, and a psychiatrist. The program has evolved in line with community needs, adding new components over time, including specialist doctors.
An important part of implementation is ongoing cooperation with local partners: local authorities, healthcare facilities, community leaders, and local volunteers, who help inform residents and organize patient visits.
The program launched in cooperation with IRC in Ukraine, supported by USAID BHA. Mobile medical teams were formed, cooperation with authorities and communities was established, and regular visits were organized to settlements in the Kharkiv region and to temporary accommodation sites for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kharkiv.
Work continued for four more months in partnership with IRC, funded by Sida.
The program was temporarily extended with short-term IRC support. In May 2025, the organization funded visits from its own resources, maintaining community access to medical services despite the lack of external funding.
Mobile team activity was temporarily suspended due to lack of funding. Meanwhile, the organization worked to secure new partners.
In September 2025, the program resumed with support from new partners: the Novo Nordisk Foundation (September 2025 – June 2026) and the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (September 2025 – July 2026). Each donor supports the work of two mobile medical teams.
This stage expanded the range of medical services by bringing in specialist doctors: an ultrasound specialist, a neurologist, an endocrinologist, and a gynecologist. With support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, a health promotion specialist was also brought on for the program's preventive component.
